The role of the Assistant Director of Nursing involves working collaboratively as part of a larger team to assess and support patients within a hospital setting. The Speech and Language Therapy department delivers high-quality services to adults across various acute services, including Stroke, Age-related care, Critical care, Respiratory, General Medicine, and Surgery.
Responsibilities:- Achieve results in patient assessment and treatment by employing evidence-based practice and current research findings.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures and standards that reflect best practices and maintain regulatory compliance.
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff on speech and language therapy practices.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing and treating communication and swallowing difficulties of adults across the inpatient acute medical wards. Strong emphasis is placed on supervision and mentorship in the department.
Key Requirements- Be fully qualified and registered with CORU.
- Be eligible to work in Ireland without sponsorship.
- Have experience working with older adults in a rehab setting.
- Prior experience working with stroke patients is preferred.
