Clinical Nurse Manager Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager to lead our Endoscopy team in providing high-quality patient care.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing the activities and resources within the Endoscopy unit, ensuring a safe, quality-assured, and efficient service for patients and colleagues. They will work as a member of a team of nurses in the UPMC Whitfield Hospital Endoscopy Unit, providing high-quality, patient-centred care for patients and their families.

The Clinical Nurse Manager will develop and maintain good relationships with all members of the multi-disciplinary team and work closely with nursing colleagues to develop innovative practice within the unit, delivering evidence-based care.

The role involves managing patient care to ensure the highest professional standards, using an evidence-based care planning approach. The successful candidate will also provide a high level of professional and clinical leadership, ensuring safe, comprehensive nursing care to service users within the guidelines laid out by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).

The Clinical Nurse Manager will participate in teams/ meetings/ committees as appropriate, communicating and working in cooperation with other team members. They will facilitate coordination, cooperation, and liaison across healthcare teams, plan and organize schedules within Endoscopy, in conjunction with the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). Supervision of the day-to-day activities of the endoscopy team is also a key responsibility.

The successful candidate will lead in the development, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based policies, guidelines, and procedures for the unit, including accreditation processes such as JAG and CHKS. They will identify continuous quality improvements and develop quality programs in consultation with the multi-disciplinary team.

The role requires the successful candidate to keep abreast of research and developments in nursing, updating own knowledge, experience, and skills through continuous professional development. They will foster good working relationships between colleagues and other staff by maintaining high professional standards and work within allocated resources through rigorous planning, monitoring, and evaluation of all available resources.
