Job Opportunity:

Assistant Director of Nursing

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Director of Nursing to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct internal audits and follow up on results to ensure the home meets HIQA standards.
  • Provide initial induction and ongoing training to staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Encourage innovative practice by promoting a culture of excellence and best practice within the nursing home.
  • Implement and adhere to HIQA standards, procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance and maintain high quality care.
  • Regular communication meetings with clinical staff will be held to discuss progress, address concerns and promote collaboration.
  • Develop relationships with external community agencies to maximize opportunities for the home's profile in the local community.
  • Implement a Health and Safety Policy that prioritizes the well-being and safety of residents, staff and visitors.
  • Ensure fire training and evacuation plans are in place and regularly reviewed.
  • Maintain the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the home.
  • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance programme to ensure the home's infrastructure is maintained and upgraded as needed.
  • Select and interview candidates for nursing positions to ensure the right person is hired for each role.
  • Ensure all clinical practices meet Regulations & Standards.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Nurse with at least 3 years Management experience.
  • Post registration management qualification in health or a related field.
  • Proven track record in healthcare clinical management.
  • Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to make informed decisions and drive results.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively and promote a positive team environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a rapidly changing environment.
