The Opportunity

We are expanding our Payments solutions, delivering both online and in-store payment experiences to thousands of customers daily. As the Senior engineer, you'll play a hands-on role in shaping the future of our Payments team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of redesigning and improving core components within the Payments solution.
  • Tackle complex architectural and infrastructure challenges, helping to stabilise critical payment flows.
  • Make informed, pragmatic technical decisions with autonomy to influence architectural direction.
  • Champion and apply engineering best practices, supporting your team in doing the same through mentorship and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate technical groundwork into product feature delivery.
  • Keep a high bar for quality and craftsmanship in your day-to-day work.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional experience building backend systems in object-oriented languages.
  • Experience in designing and building distributed systems that communicate via RESTful and event-driven architectures.
  • Strong software craftsmanship, including clean code and sustainable engineering.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and cloud-based infrastructure.
