The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in underwriting, with a strong focus on delivering best-in-market capability. You will be responsible for leading the Commercial Underwriting function, developing and implementing strategies to drive business growth and profitability.


As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the development and implementation of underwriting policies and procedures, ensuring that they are aligned with the company's overall strategy and risk appetite. You will also be responsible for managing a team of underwriters, providing guidance and support to ensure that they have the skills and resources needed to deliver exceptional results.


You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to ensure that underwriting strategies align with business objectives. Your expertise in underwriting will be invaluable in helping us to identify and capitalize on new opportunities, while minimizing risk.


Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in a large general insurance company, specializing in Commercial underwriting risk acceptance and rating environment
  • Strong experience in people management, with a proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence colleagues, customers, and stakeholders at all levels
  • A degree in a relevant field, such as actuarial science or finance, or equivalent experience
