We are seeking a skilled Energy Engineer to support the delivery of energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions in residential projects.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting Building Energy Rating (BER) assessments and energy audits on new and existing residential buildings. This will involve designing and implementing cost-effective energy efficiency measures, including insulation upgrades, airtightness improvements, and heating system optimisations.

Additionally, the candidate will specify and support the installation of renewable energy systems, such as solar PV and air-to-water heat pumps. Ensuring full compliance with Part L of the Irish Building Regulations and DEAP software is essential.

A key aspect of this role is carrying out energy modelling and simulation using tools like DEAP, PHPP, or IESVE. The successful candidate will also prepare technical reports, grant applications, and funding documentation.

The ideal candidate will work closely with architects, contractors, and homeowners to deliver energy-efficient design solutions. Monitoring energy performance post-occupancy and recommending adjustments or enhancements will be an ongoing responsibility.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Certification as a Domestic BER Assessor registered with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) is mandatory. Experience in preparing SEAI grant applications and knowledge of Irish building regulations, especially Part L and energy performance frameworks, are highly desirable.

Candidates should also have experience with residential construction projects, including retrofits and new builds. Proficiency in DEAP and other energy assessment tools is essential. Strong report writing, communication, and client liaison skills are also required.

Benefits

This is a permanent position based in County Kerry. Full driving licence is required.
