Job Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled Microbiologist to join our team at our manufacturing site in Manorhamilton, Sligo. This is a permanent part-time position that involves providing an effective microbiological service to the plant.

Main duties include ensuring that biological and environmental monitoring procedures are met, maintaining and complying with laboratory documentation and computerized systems, and training laboratory staff in operational tests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and comply with laboratory documentation and computerized systems, ensuring data integrity requirements are met.
  • Carry out environmental and product microbiological tests as required, including validation of equipment and test methods for microbiological tests.
  • Develop and update procedures for the plant related to microbiological and environmental testing, and train laboratory staff accordingly.
  • Promote a culture of quality and excellence within the laboratory.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • A third-level qualification in microbiology or a related field.
  • A good knowledge of aseptic processes manipulation, experience within a GLP/GMP environment, and familiarity with current EU/FDA/ICH/HPRA guidelines.
  • Relevant industry experience is desirable but not essential.
