Electrical Design Engineer Role:

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be working with our multidiscipline engineering services team to deliver electrical technical designs for various sectors including renewables, gas networks, water, energy & utilities, and asset management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct feasibility studies for power generation plants
  • Prepare electrical technical designs and submissions
  • Perform power system studies, including load flow, short-circuit, and protection coordination calculations
  • Use electrical software packages such as Dialux, Electrical OM, Trimble, ETAP, etc.
  • Develop electrical schematics, installation details, and drawings
  • Generate specifications for switchgear, transformers, protection systems, and other major HV and LV equipment
  • Design ancillary electrical services including building distribution network, lighting systems, fire alarm, earthing and bonding, cabling systems, equipment schedules
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need an Engineering degree (Honours bachelor's degree or higher) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, 2+ years post-graduate experience, excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, good academic record, full clean driving license and own transport required, fluent written and spoken English essential, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
