The role of a social worker is multifaceted and rewarding, requiring individuals to provide emotional support and practical guidance to clients in need.
Key Responsibilities:- Assessment and Support: Assess clients' needs, strengths, and vulnerabilities, offering empathy and tailored assistance as required.
- Advocacy and Care Planning: Advocate for patients' rights and access to services, developing personalized care plans that cater to each individual's unique circumstances.
- Crisis Intervention: Assist patients in navigating complex situations such as bereavement, abuse, addiction, or homelessness, providing a supportive presence during times of crisis.
- Education: A bachelor's degree in social work or a related field is essential.
- Registration: CORU registration is mandatory for this role.
- Residency: The successful candidate must be a resident in Ireland and have the legal right to work in Ireland without restriction.
- Security Clearance: Willingness to undergo Garda vetting is required, with international police clearance necessary for those who have lived outside of Ireland for more than six months after the age of 16.
