Homeless Services Support Professional

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a homeless support worker.
- To provide practical assistance and support to families and/or individuals during their engagement with our services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing intensive support to clients, sourcing and securing accommodation, and facilitating access to local services such as medical, welfare, training, education and employment services.
- To process referrals made to the service in a timely and efficient manner.
- To conduct assessments in a professional, sensitive and appropriate manner.
- To intensively work with clients to source and secure suitable accommodation.
- To support clients to access a broad range of services including health, safety and general welfare.
- To actively engage with and facilitate clients in accessing a variety of services.
- To work in partnership with clients, promoting self-advocacy and when necessary, advocate on their behalf.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years experience of working with vulnerable communities, a recognised third level qualification in social care or related field, and a commitment to our vision, mission and values.
- A strong understanding of the nature of homelessness and the complex needs of homeless families.
- Integrity and an ability to build trusting and respectful professional relationships.
- An understanding of a broad range of issues including equity, inclusion, diversity, mental health, addiction, trauma, children's needs, relationship and family breakdown, poverty and social exclusion.
- Good written and oral communication and I.T. skills.
- A full clean driving license.
