Optimize Database Infrastructure


Susquehanna International Group is seeking a skilled database professional to fill this critical role.
This opportunity enables you to leverage your current knowledge of relational databases to ensure the stability and scalability of our enterprise database platform. You will be responsible for installing, configuring and updating our current environment of hundreds of instances, ensuring that current and future instances are optimized to meet the evolving needs of our business. Additionally, you will partner closely with fellow database administrators, as well as development and engineering teams to share ideas and recommendations for solutions that will increase and expand our enterprise database capabilities. Developing scripting skills to automate and improve our environment will also be a key responsibility. Furthermore, you will design and optimize systems that process massive amounts of data, ensuring high performance and stability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure and update our current environment of hundreds of instances.
  • Ensure that current and future instances are optimized to meet the evolving needs of our business.
  • Partner closely with fellow database administrators, as well as development and engineering teams to share ideas and recommendations for solutions that will increase and expand our enterprise database capabilities.
  • Develop scripting skills to automate and improve our environment.
  • Design and optimize systems that process massive amounts of data, ensuring high performance and stability.


Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline required.
  • 5+ years of experience with MariaDB required.
  • 3+ years of experience with Oracle required.
  • Strong relational database knowledge, troubleshooting, and performance tuning required.
  • Thorough understanding of the Linux operating system and Linux shell scripting required.
  • Thorough understanding of database backup and recovery concepts required.
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring tools such as SQL Diagnostic Manager for MySQL and Oracle Enterprise Manager or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of high availability architectures.
  • Cloud experience a plus.
