Health and Safety Officer

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on health and safety matters to staff and senior management. This will include reviewing incidents, risk assessments, and obtaining quotes for equipment, training, and PPE.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing H&S advice and guidance to staff and senior management
  • Reviewing incidents, risk assessments etc
  • Obtaining equipment, training and PPE quotes
  • Drafting intranet communications, drafting email advice, reviewing policies, carrying out H&S inspections/audits, and attending site visits

Essential Qualifications:
  • The Nebosh General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
  • A full current driving license enabling the holder to drive vehicles in Northern Ireland and access to a form of transport

Other Requirements:
  • Relevant or equivalent qualifications will also be considered from applicants with relevant formal qualifications considered to be of an equivalent or higher standard to those stated
  • Applicants must have the ability to complete a criminal record check through Access NI

Working Conditions:

The postholder will be required to work flexibly, including occasional evening or weekend work as required. The postholder will also be required to undertake regular site visits and attend meetings as necessary.
