Biotechnology Laboratory Specialist

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled laboratory professional to join our team in Cork. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of competency in laboratory methods and procedures to support the testing of biotechnology products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Achieve a high level of proficiency in laboratory testing activities, including method validation and technical transfer, to ensure compliance with ICH, USP, and EP guidelines.
  • Review and approve laboratory test results, identifying any deviations or issues that may impact product quality.
  • Perform analytical testing activities, including equipment calibration and maintenance, to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain technical documents, such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs), to support laboratory operations.
  • Evaluate the quality of testing and ensure it is completed, reviewed, and approved within agreed turnaround times.
  • Collaborate with the QC Team Leader to identify and address any issues or deviations in testing, ensuring compliance with product license commitments and company quality standards.
Requirements:
  • Degree in a relevant scientific discipline, such as chemistry or biology.
  • Proven experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory methods and procedures, including method validation and technical transfer.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
