Healthcare Assistant Wanted

We are seeking a caring and experienced Healthcare Assistant to join our team in acute hospitals settings in Dublin.

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support to patients with varying needs. Your duties will include assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, as well as providing emotional support and companionship to patients.

Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 months experience as an HCA in a nursing home or hospital, excellent communication skills, and a good understanding of the Irish healthcare system and care. You will also need to hold a Full QQI 5 Major Healthcare Support Award (8 modules completed essential) or a Nursing Degree.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients
  • Monitor and record food and fluid intake
  • Provide incontinence care and change bed linens as necessary
  • Assist with preparation and maintenance of medical equipment
  • Support nurses and doctors during examinations and procedures
  • Provide assistance in wound care and dressing changes
  • Maintain accurate patient records
  • Adhere to protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 months experience as an HCA in a nursing home or hospital
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good understanding of the Irish healthcare system and care
