The Senior Speech and Language Therapist plays a pivotal role in spearheading the management and development of the Speech & Language Therapy service within our ENT departments.

Key Responsibilities:- Clinical Excellence: Provide comprehensive assessments and rehabilitation services to patients with communication and swallowing disorders, leveraging your skills and experience to drive positive outcomes.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with other senior Speech and Language Therapists assigned to this clinical area to ensure seamless delivery of patient care.
- Specialized Expertise: Develop and maintain expertise in tracheostomy and laryngectomy management for the ENT role, enhancing your professional competency and contributing to the growth of our therapy services.
- Person-Centred Care: Contribute to the creation of a person-centred care environment by promoting accessible interactions, documents, and environments for patients with communication needs, ensuring safe and effective swallowing practices.
- Seamless Patient Care: Maintain close liaison with senior SLTs to ensure comprehensive and cohesive patient services, addressing complex care requirements with empathy and professionalism.
- Liaison and Collaboration: Collaborate with relevant personnel to ensure effective patient care and management, fostering strong relationships and driving quality improvements.
- Long-Term Illness Management: Develop and maintain expertise in managing long-term illness and disability, upholding high professional standards and delivering compassionate care.
- Service Delivery: Provide SLT services across the entire department as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in responding to changing needs.
- Instrumental Assessments: Participate in VFSS/FEES clinics and other instrumental assessments as necessary, utilizing cutting-edge techniques to inform patient care.
