Senior Trainee Manager Role

Job Description

This is a key position within our management team, requiring an individual with experience as a trainee manager in a busy supermarket environment.

  • The successful candidate will work closely with the Store Senior Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring excellent customer service and high standards across all departments.
  • Maintaining effective stock control and ordering systems to ensure efficient supply chain management.
  • Leading a team of up to 40 staff members when on duty, fostering a positive working environment and promoting strong communication skills.
  • Implementing and managing staff training and development programs to enhance employee knowledge and expertise.
Main Responsibilities:
  1. Working as part of the store's management team.
  2. Assisting the Store Senior Manager in running the store on a daily basis.
  3. Managing a team of up to 40 staff when on duty.
  4. Stock ordering and control.
  5. Ensuring high product quality in all departments.
  6. Providing excellent customer service at all times.
  7. Staff Training.
  8. Security Awareness.
Requirements
  1. A minimum of 2 years' experience in a trainee management role within a busy supermarket setting.
  2. Desirable: Previous experience in a Super Valu/Centra store.
  3. HACCP trained.
  4. Fluent English language skills (written and spoken).
  5. In-depth knowledge of the retail grocery industry and current trends.
  6. Strong organisational skills.
  7. Previous staff training and development experience.
  8. Excellent communication skills.
  9. Good security awareness.
  10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  11. Flexibility regarding early starts and late finishes.
