Senior Psychologist Job

The role of Senior Psychologist is a critical position within our Primary Care Child Services Team in Galway. We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic professional to deliver evidence-based psychological interventions to children and their families across the Galway area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for children aged 0–18, providing personalized treatment plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and social workers, to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Deliver time-limited interventions, both individually and in groups, as part of the Wait List Initiative, focusing on positive outcomes and improved quality of life for children and families.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in accordance with HSE standards and professional guidelines, ensuring the highest level of professionalism and accountability.
  • Participate in service planning, development, and quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the ongoing growth and enhancement of our services.
  • Liaise with families, schools, and relevant agencies as necessary to provide comprehensive support for children's psychological well-being.
  • Develop and implement clinical pathways to address service delays and improve access to care, driving excellence in our services.
  • Engage in regular clinical supervision and continued professional development (CPD) activities to maintain expertise and stay current with best practices in the field.
Requirements:
  • Hold an Irish post-graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology, or an equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health.
  • Have relevant experience working with children and families, ideally in a primary care or child mental health setting.
