Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Housing Officer, you will play a key role in managing tenancies and supporting residents to maintain successful and sustainable living arrangements.
- Tenancy Management: Overseeing the start, duration, and end of tenancies, including sign-ups, renewals, and terminations.
- Rent Collection & Arrears Management: Monitoring rent accounts, engaging with tenants to resolve arrears, and working with finance teams to ensure timely payments.
- Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB): Investigating complaints, liaising with enforcement agencies, and implementing appropriate interventions.
- Property Inspections: Conducting regular estate and property inspections to ensure standards are maintained and repairs are identified.
- Resident Engagement: Building strong relationships with tenants, responding to queries, and promoting community initiatives.
- Partnership Working: Collaborating with social services, support agencies, and internal departments to provide holistic support to residents.
- Safeguarding & Welfare: Identifying vulnerable tenants and ensuring appropriate referrals and support mechanisms are in place.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience in a housing management or tenancy support role.
- Strong understanding of housing legislation, tenancy law, and safeguarding practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive issues professionally.
- Ability to manage a busy and varied caseload with strong organisational skills.
- Proficiency in using housing management systems and Microsoft Office.
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle (if fieldwork is required).
