Job Opportunity:

The role of a Mechanical Engineer entails overseeing site safety, ensuring quality assurance and project schedules are managed effectively. Collaborating with the safety advisor, mechanical package manager and other trades is essential to guarantee projects are completed on time and within budget.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinating Site Safety in conjunction with the Safety Advisor.
  • Managing Site QA in conjunction with the Mechanical Package Manager including set up, management and closing out of file.
  • Understanding and managing project schedules in conjunction with other trades, Package Leads, consulting Engineers and Client requirements.
  • Assisting with the management of costs associated with your package including Sub-contractors.
  • Material deliveries and goods receipting, Plant and Equipment, Variations and Valuations
  • Overseeing all day to day on-site operations
  • Managing subcontractor activities includes tracking progress against schedule and personnel levels. Ensuring that there is a weekly minute meeting with a sub-contractor.
  • Managing the "In Progress" snagging system ensures that you return weekly punch lists where applicable.
  • Issuing direct labour hours and subcontractor hours to time administrator for tracking centrally.
  • Attending Site Meetings, Internal Project Reviews, Engineering Reviews, Planning and Co-ordination Meetings and Handover Meetings
  • Closing out all project items, including O & M Manuals, Punch List, Safety File, QA File, – all with the support of the Mechanical package manager.
  • Implementing a weekly look ahead ensuring co-ordination with other trades.
  • Issuing an internal weekly progress report.
  • Scheduling & tracking material deliveries to correspond with the project schedule.
  • Maintaining a weekly photographic project.
  • All other duties associated with this role.

Requirements:
  • A mechanical engineering qualification or relevant work experience
  • Good computer skills in word, excel etc.
  • Proven record of co-ordinating and managing large projects
  • Experience working with a mechanical contractor in the construction sector
