Job Description

A leading supermarket group is seeking an experienced retail professional to fill the role of Assistant Manager. This exciting opportunity offers a chance to lead a large retail store with a vast offering of high-quality fresh food produce and develop your skills in sales, customer service, and team management.


The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in retail management, preferably within the food industry, and possess excellent leadership and communication skills. They should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, motivate and manage a team, and contribute to achieving business goals.



Responsibilities
  1. Support the manager in achieving sales and profit targets.
  2. Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  3. Maintain stock and cash control procedures, investigating and reporting any variances.
  4. Develop and implement effective advertising, sales promotion, and display plans.
  5. Manage all controllable costs to maintain profitability.
  6. Recruit, select, and train new staff, in conjunction with the HR department.
  7. Organize special promotions, displays, and events.


Requirements
  • 3+ years of retail management experience, preferably within the food industry.
  • Experience using Retail IT systems to understand stock and sales trends.
  • Strong leadership and people skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic with a high level of confidence.
  • A strong work ethic and commitment to delivering results.

Working Arrangements

This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, with weekend availability as required. The salary for this role is €38,000 - €42,000 per year, depending on experience.
