Procurement Leadership Opportunity

The role of Senior Procurement Manager involves driving strategic initiatives, ensuring efficient supply chain operations, and fostering strong relationships with suppliers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Head of Department to develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, competitors, and emerging technologies to inform procurement decisions and mitigate risks.

Portfolio Management

  • Manage product ranges within the portfolio to maintain competitiveness, innovation, and customer focus.
  • Work closely with sales teams to ensure alignment on demand, pricing, and product offerings.

Supply Chain Optimization

  • Oversee procurement processes, including demand forecasting, purchase requisitions, stock orders, and transfers.
  • Balance supply chain constraints to ensure timely delivery and material availability.

Inventory and Cost Management

  • Optimize stock levels to minimize shortages and excess inventory.
  • Lead supplier negotiations, manage RFQs/RFPs, evaluate bids, and secure favorable commercial terms.

Pricing and Performance Management

  • Leverage data insights to drive pricing strategies and enhance profitability.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the portfolio and deliver continuous improvement.

Supplier and Customer Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to drive innovation, service, and cost efficiency.
  • Partner with suppliers to deliver value-adding initiatives that meet customer needs.

Collaboration and Administration

  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to support business priorities.
  • Complete core purchasing administration tasks, including requisitions, invoice matching, credit notes, and reporting.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in senior procurement or purchasing management, preferably in retail or wholesale.
  • Proven track record in supplier negotiation, cost optimization, and relationship management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with purchasing platforms/ERP systems.
  • Ambition to grow strategic leadership capabilities.
