The EHSS Specialist ensures compliance with environmental, safety and sustainability regulations. They develop and implement EHSS programs, create and maintain reports, and ensure adherence to workflow timelines.
Key responsibilities include supporting operational functions, acting as a key contact for internal customers, and promoting an EHSS culture.
Duties And Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, medical surveillance and sustainability laws, regulations, codes, rules, and consensus guides.
- Develop and implement new EHSS programs, policies, and procedures and update and improve existing ones.
- Create and maintain EHSS reports, records, and performance trend reports.
- Support day-to-day activities in various operational functions across the campus, including Commercial, Clinical drug substance manufacturing, Site Engineering, Supply Chain/Warehouse, and Laboratories.
- Collaborate with peers, management, cross-functional teams at site and EOHSS above-site teams.
- Participate in EHSS discussions, committees, teams, self-assessments, inspections, audits, and GEMBAs.
- Perform risk and hazard assessments throughout the campus, including PHAs for Process Safety.
- Bachelor of Science degree/Diploma in Environmental Studies, Health & Safety, or Science.
- Prior experience in EHS within a pharmaceutical industry (3-6 years).
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point).
- Experience with incidents and/or learning systems database preferred.
- Familiarity with EHSS Irish and European regulations (EPA, HSA, Irish Water) preferred.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, think creatively and critically, and solve complex problems.
- Prioritise work, analyse complex issues, and provide excellent judgment, quality, and detail in an urgent manner.
- Continuous improvement mindset, proactive problem-solving approach, and strong decision-making capability.
- Experience handling confidential information and sensitive issues diplomatically.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and collaboration abilities.
- You will contribute to patient care and fight against serious diseases.
