Fingal County Council is a leading local authority in Ireland, known for its commitment to delivering high-quality services to the community. We are seeking an experienced Active Travel Coordinator to join our team, responsible for coordinating the work of the Sports Development Section and developing policies to promote participation in sporting activity in the county.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a degree in a related field such as sport management, recreation, or leisure studies, and at least 5 years of experience in sports development, recreation, or a related field. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment, and strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Main Duties
  1. Coordinate the work of the Sports Development Section
  2. Develop policies to promote participation in sporting activity in the county
  3. Liaise with Sport Ireland, National Sporting Governing Bodies, and sports clubs and organisations in the county
  4. Prepare reports for and attend meetings of the Fingal Sports Partnership committee
  5. Manage the Council's participation in the Active Cities programme

Key Performance Indicators

  • Successful coordination of the work of the Sports Development Section
  • Development of effective policies to promote participation in sporting activity in the county
  • Liaison with Sport Ireland, National Sporting Governing Bodies, and sports clubs and organisations in the county
  • Preparation of reports for and attendance at meetings of the Fingal Sports Partnership committee
