Job Title: Senior Financial StrategistFinancial Leadership Opportunity

As a senior financial strategist, you will play a key role in shaping the financial future of the organization. You will lead on strategy, planning, and performance, providing strategic business and financial advice to directors and senior operational managers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive financial strategy and associated financial plans to support annual budget setting and monthly financial performance reporting.
  • Provide strategic business and financial advice to support decision-making at the highest level.
  • Co-develop and oversee the implementation of the capital investment strategy.
  • Monitor financial performance management, efficiency programmes, value for money initiatives, and benchmarking activities.
  • Develop a financial framework for business cases and oversee their evaluation.
  • Lead the development of a costing and financial appraisal system to provide timely, accurate, and accessible information.
  • Negotiate with stakeholders on service and budget agreements.
  • Act as a senior member of the finance team, contributing to the department's strategic direction.
Requirements:
  • Full membership of one of the five professional accounting institutes within the CCAB or CIMA.
  • Minimum of 3 years post-qualifying experience in a senior management finance role in a major complex organisation.
  • Proven track record of delivering against challenging performance and financial management programmes.
  • Current full UK driving licence and access to a car (criteria waived for applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have suitable alternative transport).

Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience working with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • At least 2 years experience in high-level people management, governance, leadership, and organisational skills.
