About the Role
The Senior Station Technician will play a critical part in ensuring that our marine diesel engines operate efficiently and effectively. This role requires an individual with a strong engineering background, preferably with knowledge of marine diesel engines, who can lead and motivate a team of volunteers to achieve this goal.
This is a hands-on role that involves implementing planned maintenance schedules, diagnosing faults, and developing solutions to ensure the boat is always ready for operation. The successful candidate will also be responsible for working closely with the Area Technical Manager, Senior Regional Technician, and the Regional Technical Cell to resolve problems efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implementing preventative maintenance schedules to ensure optimal engine performance
- Fault finding, diagnostics, and defects reporting
- Leading and motivating a team of volunteers to achieve maintenance goals
- Working collaboratively with technical teams to resolve operational issues
Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- A strong engineering background, preferably with knowledge of marine diesel engines
- Leadership and management qualities, with the ability to motivate and maximize people's potential
- Experience of fulfilling a boat mechanic role or equivalent experience in other relevant disciplines
- The potential to be a passed-out as an Afloat Mechanic
