
Technical Lead

This role is ideal for an experienced professional who combines strong technical knowledge with practical, hands-on problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment.
The Engineering Supervisor will play a key role in leading and developing the engineering team - offering real-time coaching, supporting technical development, and maintaining high standards of quality and output at our Neurovascular facility in Ireland.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in day-to-day leadership of the business unit, positively contributing to the engineering team, driving engagement activities.
- Coach and mentor the engineering group.
- Resource Management.
- Lead continuous improvement activities.
- Drive Manufacturing Loss improvements within the value stream.
Quality Issues:
- Identify, develop, and implement processes to improve department performance.
- Provide manufacturing support by defining work assignments directed to address manufacturing process defects and implement process improvements utilizing Quality System tools.
- Develop and/or identify new work processes and improved utilization of human and material resources within operations.
- Engage and participate in delivering Business unit's KPIs.
- Oversee the development of operational standards for capacity evaluations, budget planning, and as a basis for operational measures.
- Continuously improve performance by providing technical solutions to operations issues.
- Provide leadership and direction on technology development and application within manufacturing processes.
- Support capital acquisition activity from specifying equipment, contract negotiation, installation, and validation.
- Provide out-of-hours support as required.
- Liaise with Area Team Leads, Manufacturing Engineers, and Senior Engineers to understand priorities and eliminate recurring issues.
- Liaise with Team Leads and Process/Maintenance Technicians on Equipment PM plans to minimize impact on production schedules.
- Understand critical equipment availability metrics, planned, and unplanned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Level 8 degree in an Engineering or Science discipline.
- Ideally 4 years' relevant experience in a team-based regulated manufacturing environment and ideally previous supervisory experience.
- Good knowledge of GMP/FDA regulatory requirements and current Health and Safety Regulations legislation.
- Proven experience practicing Lean tools.
- Business understanding of operations and their impacts essential.
- High level of PC skills.
- Strong communication skills with both internal and external agents.
- Able to facilitate a team of engineers to deliver a specific objective.
- Above-average emotional intelligence.
- Flexibility essential with strong project management skills.
- Pleasure working in aggressive, dynamic, results-motivated teams.
