PUNCH Consulting Engineers have a vacancy for a Senior Structural Engineer to work with our team in Limerick on a range of major projects.
Our Limerick office has over 50 technical staff covering multidisciplinary engineering services across capital investment projects in various market sectors. At PUNCH we enable our engineers to achieve their maximum potential through professional skills development, direct mentoring and a pipeline of interesting and challenging projects across all industry divisions.
Joining PUNCH will afford you the opportunity to be part of a large team responsible for delivering high-profile projects including a €250m mixed use development in Limerick, a €200m private healthcare facility and a new GAA stadium for Louth GAA.
Job DescriptionAs a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be working on the delivery of major structural projects. You will be responsible for the technical, managerial and commercial aspects of your project. Your work will be carried out in accordance with company procedures.
Candidate Specification- Honours degree in Civil/Structural Engineering required.
- Minimum 5 years postgraduate experience in engineering consultancy.
- Chartered Status with Engineers Ireland or close to applying for chartership.
- Sound understanding of engineering principles and strong technical focus, ability to apply engineering principles and codes of practice to solve technical problems.
- Excellent conceptual design abilities to provide robust and economical solutions in concrete, steel, timber, masonry etc.
- Significant base of IT skills including;
- Structural design software such as Tekla Structural Designer, SCIA, TEDDS suite, CADS suite, STRAP etc.
- REVIT + AutoCAD skills.
- Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Project.
- The ability to source and use new design software to benefit project work.
- Independent judgement in the application of engineering science and knowledge including complex design, construction and management.
- Leadership skills to plan, manage and direct human, material and financial resources required to solve complex problems in multidisciplinary teams.
- High level of commercial understanding and application.
- Understanding of Irish regulatory and policy issues.
- Implement full Project Delivery Process including GCC Contracts.
- A successful track record working closely in partnership with clients and contractors and other members of design teams.
- Strong communication skills both oral and written.
- A positive, proactive approach with an ability to adapt to changing scenarios.
