This role is an integral part of our Asset Operations function, responsible for delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable water services to customers. As a key member of the Technical Operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of water and wastewater assets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a culture of safe practice, investigating escalated customer complaints, and providing technical support and knowledge of operational performance capabilities. You will also contribute to the development of operational, maintenance, and repair plans, as well as support the identification and implementation of technical solution recommendations to improve water treatment and supply/wastewater treatment and network performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for promoting a culture of safe practice and ensuring full compliance with health and safety legislative requirements.
  • Investigating escalated customer complaints and providing updates to customers in accordance with required timelines.
  • Providing technical support and knowledge of operational performance capabilities to support the timely resolution of non-routine, specialised activities.
  • Contributing to the development of operational, maintenance, and repair plans.
  • Supporting the identification and implementation of technical solution recommendations to improve water treatment and supply/wastewater treatment and network performance.

Our ideal candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, be able to engage collaboratively with frontline staff and internal stakeholders, and have experience working within a strong health and safety culture. Knowledge of water or wastewater treatment and network assets, risk management principles and guidelines, and ISO 31000 would be an advantage.

Key Requirements:

  • Relevant third-level qualification and/or accreditation desirable.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a customer-focused role in the water, utilities, or similar industries.
  • Experience working within a strong health and safety culture.
  • Knowledge of water or wastewater treatment and network assets an advantage.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles and guidelines (ISO 31000).
