Formulating batches of chemicals in a laboratory setting is at the heart of this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for formulating batches as directed by the Head of the Lab, adhering to established procedures and guidelines.
  • They must adhere to project timelines determined by the Head of Laboratory to ensure timely completion.
  • A critical component of the job involves researching technical literature on raw materials to evaluate chemical incompatibilities.
  • Internal testing including lifecycle, stability etc. along with coordination with external labs where necessary will be carried out.
  • Evaluating physical properties of the formulation including pH, density, viscosity and microbiological tests will also be part of the job.
  • Effective communication in writing and verbally with all levels of the R&D team is crucial.
  • The incumbent will support practical work to solve troubleshooting investigations in aid of manufacturing operations.
  • Participation in the training programme, undergoing further training as required and participating in schemes to ensure ongoing competence is essential.
  • Cleaning and maintaining laboratory instruments and equipment is also an important responsibility.
  • Keeping up-to-date with latest regulatory changes and industry trends is vital.
  • Assisting the Head of Laboratory in all areas of Laboratory responsibility will be a key aspect of the role.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology or Agri-food Science is required.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar lab environment is preferred.
  • Good technical knowledge and a mindset to learn are essential.
  • Experience working with quality systems is desirable.
