Job Opportunity

Catering Operations and Management is a key role within our care centre, requiring a professional who can deliver exceptional catering services to residents, staff and visitors.

Responsibilities:
  • Catering Operations & Compliance:
    • Ensure high standards in food safety, hygiene, quality and presentation are maintained throughout daily catering operations.
    • Implement and maintain full compliance with relevant legislation including HACCP, allergen management and food handling procedures.
  • On-Site Café Management:
    • Oversee day-to-day operations of the on-site café, ensuring cleanliness, customer service and operational efficiency are consistently met.
    • Lead cafe staff, menus and service flow to provide a welcoming and high-quality experience for residents, visitors and staff.
  • Resident Dining Experience:
    • Deliver a positive and respectful mealtime experience for all residents, incorporating proper setting of dining rooms and trays, courteous service and timely meal delivery.
    • Engage with residents and families to gather feedback and implement improvements based on satisfaction surveys and audits.
  • Staff Management & Development:
    • Lead, train and supervise catering and café staff to ensure ongoing development and performance standards are met.
    • Organise rotas and manage staffing needs efficiently to meet catering demands.
  • Resource & Cost Management:
    • Monitor and manage catering and café budgets to ensure cost-effective operations.
    • Oversee purchasing and stock control systems to minimise waste and maintain freshness.
  • Quality Assurance & Audit Preparation:
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation to support environmental health inspections and audit readiness.
    • Assist in internal and external audits, including internal and external food safety inspections.

 

Requirements:
  • A degree in Culinary Arts or a related field, along with a management qualification, is preferred but not essential.
  • A minimum of three years experience in a catering or café restaurant management role in a high-volume setting, with relevant supervisory responsibilities.
  • Certified HACCP Management training, such as QQI Level 6 Designing Food Safety Management Systems or equivalent, is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel, is required.
Desirable Attributes:
  • Strong leadership, organisational and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.
  • A proactive approach to service delivery and problem-solving, combined with passion for enhancing quality of life through food service in a care environment, are valuable assets.
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail are also crucial for maintaining high-quality service standards.
