Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines using Databricks and Apache Spark.

You will collaborate with data analysts and data scientists to understand data needs and provide appropriate data solutions. Your primary focus will be on optimising existing ETL processes to enhance performance and efficiency, ensuring data quality by implementing validation and testing procedures, and working with Big Data technologies and frameworks to manage large datasets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Databricks and Apache Spark.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and data scientists to understand data needs and provide appropriate data solutions.
  • Optimise existing ETL processes to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Ensure data quality by implementing validation and testing procedures.
  • Work with Big Data technologies and frameworks to manage large datasets.

Requirements

  • Databricks & Apache Spark
  • ETL pipeline development and optimisation
  • SQL, Python/Scala
  • Cloud experience (Azure preferred, AWS also suitable)
  • Data warehousing & modelling
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • EU passport / Stamp 4 visa/ Stamp 1g (spouse)

What We Offer

  • Contract: Until end of year, with potential extension
  • Location: Hybrid (2–3 days onsite in Limerick)
  • Rate: Up to €412 per day
  • Eligibility: Open to Stamp 4, Stamp 1G, and EU citizens
  • Experience: 3+ years in data engineering
