Job Title: Supermarket Assistant Manager

This role offers a great opportunity to lead a large retail store with a vast array of high quality fresh food produce, autonomy to make key business decisions and the chance to develop and advance to Store Manager.


About The Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the manager in achieving sales and profit targets. They will also provide a high level of customer service, ensuring that both they and their team adhere to all company policies and procedures.


Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting the management team to achieve sales and profit targets
  • Providing exceptional customer service at all times
  • Ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Managing stock and cash control procedures, investigating and reporting any variances
  • Developing and implementing effective advertising, sales promotion and display plans
  • Managing controllable costs to maintain profitable operations
  • Maintaining a motivated and efficient store staff by recruiting, selecting and training new employees in conjunction with the HR department
  • Organizing special promotions, displays and events to drive sales and customer engagement
  • Dealing with customer queries and complaints in accordance with company policies

Requirements And Qualifications
  • At least 3 years' experience in retail management, preferably within an environment selling fresh foods
  • Some experience using retail IT systems to understand stock and sales trends
  • Strong people skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team
  • The ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Self-motivation and enthusiasm with a high level of confidence
  • A strong work ethic and commitment to delivering results
