Job Description

This role is ideal for a seasoned Structural Engineer who has experience in overseeing the design and delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple civil/structural projects, working closely with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.

The position involves technical design, project management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will work on high-profile projects, primarily bridge refurbishments and new constructions. This will require strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and manage civil/structural projects from inception to completion
  • Collaborate with internal departments, contractors, and external agencies to ensure smooth project execution
  • Conduct site audits and safety inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies
  • Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and design documentation
  • Monitor construction activities for safety, quality, and compliance
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Essential Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field
  • Chartered Engineer status and membership with relevant professional bodies
  • 5+ years' experience in a design office, preferably in a leadership role
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., Tekla TEEDS, SLOPE, WALLAP) and BIM tools (Revit, AutoCAD, Civils 3D)
  • Strong knowledge of H&S regulations and industry standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
