Civil Engineering Leadership Position

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will oversee and manage civil and structural elements of a major energy project in East Cork. This is a permanent position with a leading contractor that delivers large-scale civil and utility projects across Ireland.

The Role

- Lead the management of civil and structural works from design through to completion.

- Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and client requirements.

- Coordinate with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to drive successful delivery.

- Oversee documentation control including method statements, risk assessments, technical submittals, and QA/QC records.

- Support project planning, scheduling, and reporting to ensure programme milestones are achieved.

- Monitor progress, manage risks, and resolve technical challenges.

- Foster a culture of health, safety, environmental, and quality excellence.

- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement across project delivery.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.

- Minimum 7+ years experience in civil engineering, with exposure to large-scale infrastructure or utilities projects.

- Strong background in structural steel and civil works.

- Excellent technical knowledge with ability to interpret drawings and specifications.

- Proven track record in managing project documentation and quality assurance.

- Strong organisational and communication skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
