Job Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a financial professional in a life science business located in Galway City.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of monthly financial reports including analysis of Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements.
  • Preparation and review of statutory financial statements to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Liaising with external auditors for periodic and year-end review procedures to ensure accurate and timely completion of audits.
  • Liaising with tax specialists and advisors to ensure compliance with all external reporting requirements, including VAT, Corporation Tax, and CSO.
  • Assisting with the implementation of SOX compliance and reporting procedures.
  • Preparation, analysis, and posting of journals at month-end to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Preparation and analysis of balance sheet reconciliations at month-end to identify any discrepancies or issues.
  • Ensuring compliance with corporate policies and accounting standards to maintain high levels of financial integrity.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA equivalent) with strong technical accounting skills.
  • Third-level degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • 0-5 years of relevant experience preferably in a shared service centre or multinational corporation environment.
  • SAP/Oracle or other major ERP systems experience is desirable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team, taking initiative and managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
