Health and Safety Specialist Required

This is a critical role that requires an individual with extensive experience in site-based health and safety.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of statutory inspections and risk assessments, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular site audits to identify potential hazards and implement measures to mitigate them.
  • Manage and maintain records of statutory inspections for all activities and plant equipment.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive health and safety induction programs for new employees and contractors.
  • Represent the company at site meetings and ensure that sub-contractor safety statements and method statements are available on site.
  • Assess sub-contractor statements and method statements, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Collaborate with site management to draft and communicate effective method statements.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement strategies to minimize risks.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A health and safety certification, diploma, or degree is essential.
  • At least 3 years of experience in site-based roles, with a proven track record of ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, training, and presentation skills are required.
  • Experience in the construction industry is highly desirable.
