We are currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team of dedicated professionals.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality, person-centered care to individuals with disabilities in a variety of settings, including residential care, nursing homes, and community care.

This role involves assisting individuals with daily living activities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being while adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitoring and reporting on service user's health
  • Maintaining safe surroundings for the service users
  • Bathing, showering, and personal hygiene assistance
  • Dressing and undressing of service users
  • Meal preparation and assistance with feeding
  • Toileting assistance
  • Mobility assistance in daily activities (including transfers and use of assistive devices)
  • Transporting and accompanying service users to and from residential houses, doctors' visits, and therapy sessions
Qualifications:

Minimum QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support or equivalent

Experience:

Minimum 2 years of experience working in a healthcare setting, specifically within disability services, nursing homes, or community care

Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals with varying communication needs
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, including collaboration with other healthcare professionals, family members, and caregivers
  • Ability to provide compassionate, person-centred care that respects individual needs, preferences, and dignity
  • Basic IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), SharePoint, and electronic documentation systems
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple demands, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to identify and address potential issues proactively and effectively
  • In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures within a healthcare setting
