Supervisor - Food Service

Overview of the Role:

The food service supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our dining services. This dynamic position demands strong leadership abilities, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the activities of the food service staff, encompassing recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that food service operations meet quality standards, from preparation to presentation, maintaining consistency and adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and place orders for food, beverages, and supplies to maintain adequate levels while controlling costs.
  • Customer Relations: Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing concerns, resolving complaints, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience for guests.
  • Financial Oversight: Assist in budgeting and cost control measures, monitoring expenses, analyzing financial reports, and implementing strategies to maximize profitability without compromising quality.
  • Culinary Development and Promotion: Collaborate with chefs to develop menus, create special promotions, and implement marketing strategies to attract guests and increase revenue.

Requirements:

  • Previous supervisory experience in food service.
  • Completed hospitality or travel/ tourism qualification.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees and customers, solve multiple problems simultaneously, set priorities, organize work, and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer care and complaint handling skills.
  • Excellent presentation and appearance.
  • Sales-related skills.
  • Ability to utilize computer systems (desired Micros).
  • Capacity to deliver high-quality results and adhere to established standards.
