Steel Designer

As a skilled Steel Designer, you will be responsible for producing detailed drawings and plans for steel structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create accurate drawings using CAD software such as Tekla Structures, Solid Works, or Advance Steel for multiple steel assemblies.
  • Develop drawings for steel fabrication and installation processes.
  • Examine and review architectural and structural plans to ensure all detailing aligns with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Identify and resolve potential design problems before they escalate.
  • Participate in project meetings to discuss technical issues.
  • Manage record keeping including up-to-date records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to H&S legislation requirements throughout the design process.
  • Assist in the preparation of material take-offs and fabrication lists.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in designing structural steel components and assemblies.
  • Demonstrable understanding of steel fabrication processes and standards.
  • Aptitude to decipher technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in other CAD software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision required.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Relevant educational qualification.
  • Knowledge of Advance Steel is an asset.
