Steel Designer

We are seeking a skilled Steel Designer, responsible for producing detailed drawings and plans for steel structures.

Responsibilities
  • Create detailed drawings using Tekla Structures/Solid Works/Advance Steel for multiple steel assemblies.
  • Prepare drawings for steel fabrication and installation processes.
  • Examine and review architectural and structural plans, ensuring all detailing aligns with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Liaise closely with managers and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Isolate and resolve potential design problems before they escalate.
  • Participate in project meetings to discuss technical issues required.
  • Manage record keeping including up-to-date records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation.
  • Observe H&S legislation requirements throughout the design process.
  • Support in the preparation of material take-offs and fabrication lists.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in designing structural steel components and assemblies.
  • Solid understanding of steel fabrication processes and standards.
  • Demonstratable aptitude to decipher technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in other CAD software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong detail-orientated mindset and precision required.
  • Good communication skills and comfortable working alone or with a team.
  • Relevant educational qualification.
  • Preferably, knowledge of Advance Steel.
