Network Infrastructure Specialist

Job Description:

  • A Network Infrastructure Specialist with expertise in networking and operating system basics is required.
Key Qualifications and Responsibilities:
  • Expert knowledge of network devices, including switches, routers, and wireless access points, preferably CISCO certified.
  • Understanding of VLAN configuration, switch port management, and phone port patching.
  • Troubleshooting experience with Avaya VOIP phones and basic configuration.
  • Diagnosing issues with fiber links between switches, capable of visualizing errors and communicating with remote technical teams.
  • Replacing network switch chassis blades when required.
  • Familiarity with Data Center Infrastructure Management applications is a plus.
  • Conducting periodic visual checks (minimum twice weekly) of IDF rooms for cooling and power status, including UPS alarms and PDU health.
  • Experience with Control-M, EMC Avamar, Data Domain.
  • Basic knowledge of monitoring tools such as Solarwinds.
  • Understanding of networking and operating system basics.
  • Assisting network and data center administrators during technical troubleshooting.
  • Basic knowledge of hardware such as servers and storage devices.
  • Ability to interpret monitoring tool outcomes.
  • Basic knowledge of ITSM tools, preferably ServiceNow.
  • Basic understanding of backup technologies, preferably EMC Avamar.
  • Familiarity with operating systems like Windows 2003 Server (Enterprise/Standard), UNIX, and Linux.
  • Understanding of Windows 2003 Active Directory, MS Exchange 2003, and file/print servers.
  • Experience working in SLA-based environments.
  • Knowledge of server performance monitoring is preferred.
  • Ability to perform IMACD services (Install, Move, Add, Change, Dispose) for data center and network equipment.
  • Hands-on experience in large or medium enterprise data centers or hosting sites with servers, storage, and network devices.
  • Proficiency in local language and excellent communication skills in English are mandatory.
