We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, checking, and storing incoming deliveries of raw materials, components, and supplies.

The role involves working closely with production, purchasing, and warehouse colleagues to ensure the smooth flow of materials. Strong organisational and time management skills are essential in this fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a warehouse, stores, or material handling role, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling stock. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are also required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receiving, checking, and storing incoming deliveries of raw materials, components, and supplies.
  • Issuing and delivering materials to different production departments in line with production schedules and requests.
  • Ensuring materials are handled safely and stored in the correct locations.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitoring stock levels and ensuring sufficient materials are available for production.
  • Conducting regular stock checks and cycle counts.
  • Reporting any shortages, discrepancies, or damaged goods to the Warehouse/Stores Supervisor.

Quality Accuracy:

  • Inspecting incoming goods for quality, damage, or defects before storage.
  • Ensuring stock is clearly labelled and accurately recorded in the inventory system.

Documentation Systems:

  • Updating stock movements and material issues using the company's inventory management system.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all receipts, issues, and returns.

Coordination Teamwork:

  • Working closely with production, purchasing, and warehouse colleagues to ensure the smooth flow of materials.
  • Assisting with general warehouse duties, including housekeeping, organisation, and compliance with health safety procedures.

Problem Solving:

  • Identifying and resolving any issues related to stock discrepancies, misplaced items, or production material shortages.

Qualifications Skills:

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, stores, or material handling role (manufacturing/production environment essential).
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling stock.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent level of spoken and written English.
  • Experience with inventory/ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Forklift certification (desirable).
