Lead Transportation Engineer Role

We are seeking a skilled Lead Transportation Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for leading and managing projects related to road and public transport schemes.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Project Management: You will lead the project from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and adherence to client expectations.
  • Techincal Leadership: You will provide technical guidance and oversight to ensure that projects meet the required standards and regulations.
  • Team Management: You will manage and grow a team of engineers and technicians, providing training and development opportunities to enhance their skills and expertise.
  • Client Relationship Management: You will develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering solutions that meet their expectations.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including road and public transport schemes, and will be responsible for:

  • Managing projects to ensure coordination and compatibility of multi-disciplinary inputs
  • Liaising with clients to develop strong trusted relationships
  • Undertaking project technical lead and reviewer roles
  • Using your technical ability and experience to develop staff
  • Preparing fee proposals and managing budgets for individual projects
  • Responsible for compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental Legislation and inhouse quality assurance standards/processes

The successful candidate will have:

  • A chartered member of a relevant engineering technical institution
  • Experience of contract document preparation or contract administration/site supervision using Public Works Contracts
  • Good communication, client management and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent IT skills including MS Projects
  • A thorough understanding and application of current design standards
  • Strong stakeholder management experience
