ICT Design Engineer Position

Award-winning AWS Infrastructure Services requires a skilled ICT Design Engineer to own the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all global infrastructure. This team supports data centers and servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment ensuring customer access to innovative solutions.

The ideal candidate will join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. Collaborating with people across AWS, this ICT Design Engineer will help deliver high standards for safety and security while providing capacity at the lowest possible cost.

As part of a global engineering team, comprised of Architects, Structural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Control Engineers, you will work on challenging projects and collaborate with industry suppliers to develop product requirements and recommend new technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Design scalable fiber optic and copper plant designs and specifications in a timely manner.
  • Review and approve ICT pathway, cable, and equipment submittals.
  • Rapidly identify and respond to risks and high-priority issues effectively.
  • Support new technology and design activities that improve infrastructure quality, reduce costs, and installation time.
  • Travel 20% or more to review projects and coordinate with onsite personnel and contractors at data centers.
  • Contribute creative solutions to design challenges.
Requirements
  • CNIDP (Certified Network Infrastructure Design Professional) and/or BICSI RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) Certification.
  • Information and Communications Technology (ICT) design experience in Mission Critical Environments.
  • Experience with Fiber Optic components, cabling, interconnect products, technologies, and standards.
  • Ability to bring new design concepts from exploration through deployment/construction.
