Lead Drainage Designer

Direct and manage a geographically dispersed team of engineers to deliver high-quality drainage design solutions across various project stages. Ensure technical excellence, compliance with Irish standards, and the continuous development of junior engineers.

About the Role
  • Oversee a team of engineers in delivering comprehensive drainage design services throughout all project phases.
  • Maintain the highest level of technical expertise and ensure adherence to Irish regulatory requirements.
  • Support the growth and advancement of junior engineers within the team.
  • Contribute to the strategic expansion of our drainage capabilities and services.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver effective leadership and mentorship to engineers within the team.
  • Ensure the successful delivery of drainage design projects while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.
  • Develop and implement strategies for team growth and development.
  • Collaborate with other teams and departments to promote the strategic objectives of the organization.
Requirements
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) registration with Engineers Ireland or equivalent professional certification.
  • Substantial experience in drainage design, particularly in highway and urban environments.
  • Detailed knowledge of Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) standards, the SuDS Manual, and relevant drainage guidelines.
  • Proven ability to secure design approvals from Irish authorities.
  • Proficiency in using drainage modeling software and tools.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build trust and rapport with colleagues and clients.
