Job Title

We are seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to join our client on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This role will be a key contributor to the finance function, owning the weekly payroll process and playing a pivotal role in the month-end close.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the preparation of the weekly payroll file for submission to a third-party payroll provider
  • Accurately calculate monthly project costs (materials and labour) in collaboration with Quantity Surveying and Production Admin teams
  • Participate in stock takes and complete stock reconciliation exercises
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
  • Produce billing documents in cooperation with the Commercial team to ensure accurate invoicing
  • Perform debt collection activities and follow up on overdue customer payments
  • Liaise with credit insurers to set up new customers with credit insurance
  • Act as a key contact for auditors and other third parties for quarterly Invoice Discounting audits
  • Support other ad hoc finance-related tasks as required

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Minimum of three years industry experience, ideally in manufacturing, or experience in an accounting practice
  • Experience with Finance ERP systems
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience preparing payroll files for third-party providers
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
  • An inquisitive mindset and willingness to learn
