We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team in Athlone, supporting our growing operations and driving success through collaboration and forward-thinking initiatives.
The Role
- As a Project Engineer, you will lead and work closely with project teams, vendors, and contractors to ensure timely and budget-friendly delivery of equipment. This involves planning, designing, testing, delivering, installing, qualifying, and handing over equipment on schedule and within budget.
- You will safely coordinate and lead cross-functional project teams for the delivery of processing equipment to the site based on planned timelines and scope, including projects such as blending, granulation, tableting, dispensing, and equipment washers/cleaning, all within cleanrooms.
- You will create detailed project timelines using Gantt charts, outlining clear roles and responsibilities, and ensure timely coordination and execution of documentation requirements.
- You will lead design review meetings, FATs, and other key activities with your team in place, and be willing to undertake periodic business travel as required to support projects.
- You will train and execute training sessions, verify process documentation, manage interfaces between different sectors of the project, identify and actively manage project risks, and manage project budgets and variations.
- You will attend regular project review meetings internally and externally with vendors, provide clear updates, discuss issues/concerns, and implement mitigations as needed.
- You will maintain open communication channels, ensuring stakeholders remain informed about developments.
- Additional responsibilities may include conducting training or traveling, consistent with high standards of business ethics and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
The Ideal Candidate
- You hold a third-level qualification in engineering or science, or equivalent discipline/experience.
- You possess 6-10 years of experience in leading multidisciplinary project teams, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry (pharmaceutical tableting sector), but also considering biologics or medical sectors.
- You have a proven track record in project management, demonstrating successful project delivery.
- You possess excellent interpersonal skills, able to lead and work within a team, using initiative to articulate and deliver specific functional requirements across various disciplines and functions.
- You have very good command of spoken and written English, strong relationship-building skills, effective communication and presentation skills, ability to plan tasks while ensuring required personnel are available, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- You possess passion for results, drive, and energy, with a willingness to work under pressure and deliver results, overcome obstacles, and welcome constructive feedback.
