Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Television Producer to join our team in creating engaging and high-quality content for our flagship current affairs programme.

  • Developing and implementing creative ideas for topics and guests to ensure the show remains fresh and relevant.

  • Sourcing and booking contributors for panel discussions and one-on-one interviews, as well as managing relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Working collaboratively with a team of producers and researchers to prepare and manage high-quality journalistic programming.

  • Maintaining a deep understanding of both traditional and new television production techniques to stay ahead of industry trends.

  • Monitoring ratings and audience feedback to adapt content to meet viewer preferences.

  • Managing digital news content from TV programmes to online platforms, ensuring seamless integration and engagement across all channels.

  • Performing other newsroom duties as assigned by the Head of News, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A proven track record of working in current affairs television or radio, with extensive experience in generating ideas and managing teams.

  • A thorough knowledge of the Irish political landscape, national and international social, cultural, business, and economic affairs.

  • A strong professional network and excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships across diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • The capacity to work under pressure, meeting deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.

  • Able to work flexible hours, prioritizing tasks effectively to deliver results in a dynamic environment.
