We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Community Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and leading programmes, projects, and individualized support to members engaging in our Adult and School Leaver services throughout Co Galway.

This role involves driving IWA's fleet of accessible buses. As a Community Support Worker, you will be expected to provide pathways for people with disabilities to participate fully in the community by establishing developmental, personal, and social inclusion programmes. You will work closely with colleagues, volunteers, members, and their families, as well as link with relevant voluntary and statutory agencies and educational institutes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Develop and lead the implementation of Service Hub Programmes as set by the Service Co-ordinator and Service Support Officer">
  • Facilitate opportunities for members to access community facilities and engage in community activities">
  • Support individual members in line with the Associations Person Centred Approach and through the Individual Support Service">
  • Mentor and support staff in all aspects of programme delivery">
  • Accompany and support participants on annual holidays, outings, social and day trips as required">
  • Support and engage with a change management process in line with HSE New Direction standards">
  • Ensure that standards and practices regarding health and safety are fully adhered to in all activities and in the hub itself">

Required Skills and Qualifications:

">

QQI Level 5 (Major Award) in Health Care Support or similar is required. Previous experience of networking, facilitation, development, and delivery of projects or programmes is essential. Strong computer and administration skills are also required. A full Category B Driving License with a minimum of two years' driving experience is essential.

The salary for this position is from €31,291 up to €34,832 DOE. Excellent working conditions and training & Development opportunities are also available.
