Operational Risk and Controls Analyst

We are seeking a skilled Operational Risk and Controls Analyst to lead a high-impact project for a major financial institution. This is an excellent opportunity to combine consulting expertise, regulatory risk management, and project delivery leadership.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading the project, ensuring effective implementation of group policies and procedures across fraud, outsourcing, conduct, IT, GDPR, and compliance risks.
  • Defining project scope, delivery approach, and integrated plans aligned with regulatory and operational risk objectives.
  • Executing control plans and methodologies, ensuring results are analysed, documented, and remediated with full stakeholder traceability.
  • Facilitating Risk Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) and ensuring procedural updates are completed in line with governance requirements.
  • Producing high-quality artefacts including status reports, dashboards, steering papers, and regulatory evidence packs.
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear deliverables, SLAs, and change readiness.
Consulting & Leadership Responsibilities
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to clients, delivering high-quality consulting services and driving strategic change.
  • Managing client relationships, influencing decision-making, and ensuring successful engagement outcomes.
  • Supporting the growth of the consulting practice through thought leadership, operational support, and team development.
  • Leading and inspiring project teams, ensuring delivery excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience in consulting, project management, or business analysis within financial services.
  • A strong understanding of operational risk, regulatory compliance, and control frameworks.
  • Experience managing change programmes across strategy, design, build, testing, and go-live phases.
  • Familiarity with capital markets, banking products, and lifecycle events.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams.
  • A high attention to detail, strong analytical ability, and commitment to quality assurance.
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar is a plus.
  • The ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver under pressure.
